With their hit compositions and collaborations with international stars, power couple Manj Musik and Nindy Kaur are conquering the world of music and have become two of the world’s leading South Asian artists.

Manjeet Singh Ral (Manj Musik) was a founding member and the lead vocalist and music producer of the world-renowned band RDB (Rhythm, Dhol, Bass). The band shot to fame with its fusion music, comprising of western genres mixed with bhangra and South Asian influences. Following the untimely death of one of the members (his older brother Kully), Manj Musik decided to pursue a solo career and has since released chart-topping international albums and hit Bollywood singles.

Musik has received numerous awards including Best Original Song at the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards, Best Urban Single and Best Music Video at the 2014 Brit Asia TV Awards in the U.K., the Platinum Disk Award in 2010 for exceeding 250,000 sales in Germany for his genre, and the Best Music Performance Award presented to him by ANOKHI MEDIA in 2015.

Bhangra-Bollywood superstar Nindy Kaur’s interest in music, particularly Bhangra music, began during childhood with her deep fondness for her mother tongue Punjabi. Her talent materialized into a singing career after a push by her husband, Musik, led to a 16-city tour with noted singing team Sukhbir and Shehzad Roy. She went on to sing two hits for the Bollywood flick Aloo Chaat in 2009 and collaborate numerous times with RDB, bringing her fame and recognition. Kaur has since established herself as her own brand, releasing her debut solo album Nindypendant, with hit singles such as “Two Seater” and “Deewani.”

Nindy has been my backbone and pillar of strength in the label’s success, finance management and an amazing housewife.

Musik and Kaur have collaborated with Bollywood powerhouses including Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. They’ve also worked on music for film projects such as Breakaway and Dr. Cabbie and have worked with international artists such as Raftaar, Badshah, Humble The Poet, Raxstar and Roach Killa. Some of Musik’s top Bollywood credits as a composer and/or playback singer include Tanu Weds Manu, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Singh Is Kinng, Namastey London, Jolly LLB and Singh Is Bliing, giving the world numerous party-favourite hits such as “Go Pagal,” “Singh & Kaur,” “Mahi Aaja” and “Swag Mera Desi.”

Perhaps his most well-known east-meets-west collaboration are with Ludacris and Snoop Dogg on “Shera Di Kaum” from the 2011 film Breakaway and with T-Pain on “Daddy Da Cash” from the album of the same name.

Today, Musik has the highest number of collaborations with mainstream Hollywood artists compared to any other South Asian artist in the world. The power couple has sold out concerts in multiple countries and has had globally televised performances garnering millions of viewers.

It will sound cliché but it is the fan reaction to the songs. When you are on stage in front of thousands, to hear them singing back your track is a moment in life you wish you could bottle up. I will never get tired of that feeling.

Acclaimed performances at the IIFA Awards and MTV Music Awards are additional feathers in their caps.  Their combined star power and influence in Canada is undeniable and they were named brand ambassadors for the city of Brampton in 2011 during the IIFA Awards ceremonies that year.

While Musik has promised big news on new musical ventures very soon via his tweets, Kaur has branched into her own line of cosmetics, Nindy Kaur Cosmetics. Made in Canada, her premium range of liquid matte lipsticks gained popularity quickly and launched in India in 2018.

Both Manj Musik and Nindy Kaur were recognized in The ANOKHI List 2017 coffee table book and received awards at Hotstar Presents The ANOKHI Awards 2017.
